Core Value: Spirit and Truth

Dlieberknecht   -

As we reflect on what matters most while establishing this new church, it is imperative that we must have a clear foundation. We live in uncertain times with so many voices and ideologies attempting to define what is true and important. But there is only one foundation that has stood the test of time.

At The Dwelling Church, we desire to communicate and live out the unchanging truth of the Holy Scriptures, in a way that is accessible and understandable by all. But we also recognize that knowledge alone is not enough. So we yield to the Holy Spirit’s work in our individual and communal lives. God is alive and active and operates through his Spirit, in alignment with the words on the pages of Scripture.

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:14-17)

God’s truth permeates all aspects of life and is transformational, not just informational. Times may change, but His Word is timeless. Our prayer is that as we engage with God’s truth, in cooperation with His Spirit, we would become people marked with the evidence of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24)
