Core Value: Wholeness
Discipleship to Jesus means engaging our whole selves to this pursuit. We cannot love our neighbors like ourselves if we aren’t forming and caring for our whole selves.
At The Dwelling Church, we are committed to creating space for people to grow in their faith and relationship with God in mind, body and spirit. Healthy rhythms for your entire being are essential to spiritual maturity and growth.
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:1-2)
Pete Scazzero, author of Emotionally Healthy Spirituality and founder of Emotionally Healthy Discipleship, states that you cannot dissect emotional health from spiritual maturity. They go hand in hand. And in the same way, we are embodied beings so we can’t separate our physical well being either.
At The Dwelling, we want to see people thrive on every level. Our prayer is for families to be restored, marriages to be strengthened, individuals set free from addiction, and those who are hurt to grow in their ability to rise above their circumstances through the grace of God and power of the Spirit.
“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)
