Jesus spoke about money more than any other subject. He and the apostles understood that where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21) and that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (1 Timothy 6:6-10).
A healthy church is a generous church. That's why we don't want to be a community that holds on to things too tightly. Rather, we want to be a community that reflects the lavish nature of God through the generous giving of our time, talent and resources.
We are not here to build our own little kingdoms, we’re here to build God’s kingdom. May we show the world we are people of God by the way in which we invest our resources.

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)God desires the first fruits of our time and money, not because he is cruel or greedy, but because he wants our hearts. He understands the battle for our affections. When we are generous with ourselves and our resources, we are trusting that God is good and that He is our provider.
We are not here to build our own little kingdoms, we’re here to build God’s kingdom. May we show the world we are people of God by the way in which we invest our resources.
