Mission Statement, Part 2: Mature Disciples

Published July 19, 2024
Mature: to grow or develop a particular skill or quality; to bring to full development

It is an amazing thing to realize that God accepts us where we are and as we are. It doesn’t matter what we’ve done or where we’ve been or how other people view us. You don’t need to clean yourself up or jump through hoops or prove yourself in any way. He is right there, with arms wide open, waiting for you to turn towards Him.

BUT…

God is also not content to just leave us where we are at. He doesn’t just call us out, He calls us to more.

He enters our lives and brings peace to where there’s chaos, He brings light to where there is darkness, and He changes us from the inside out. Once we experience Jesus, we can never truly be the same. The journey of faith is a lifetime adventure. It’s a constant discovery of who God is and what He is doing in the world around you. There is always growth to be had and opportunities to step into, so that you can experience more and more of His power and presence.

At The Dwelling Church, we are committed to seeing lives genuinely changed by the Gospel and transformed to reflect Jesus in their everyday life. We want to fight against apathy and stagnancy by constantly calling each other to more. We are honored to walk alongside people as they grow in not only spiritual knowledge but in things like compassion, generosity, obedience, and faith.

“I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
